San Mateo County—along with five other Bay Area county health officers and their county superintendents—today announced that school closures will extend through Friday, May 1, 2020. Based on this timeline, Mid-Pen will continue our distance learning program through May 1. Please keep in mind that the state ordered Shelter in Place currently does not have an end date, and this, combined with ongoing developments to prevent the spread of COVID-19, means distance learning may extend beyond May 1.
We miss seeing our Mid-Pen community in person, but now, more than ever, it’s vital that we all stay safe and practice social distancing. We’re grateful that we can provide our students with online learning. We continue to communicate with our local and state health and government agencies for guidance on when we can reopen the Mid-Pen campus, and we will let you know as soon as we have any updates.
Donations to Local Medical Centers
Our healthcare professionals are in dire need of personal protective equipment. Earlier this week, Mid-Pen donated our on-campus supply of N95 masks to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Fremont. We ask that if you have N95 masks, gloves, or even extra disinfecting wipes, please consider donating them to your nearest medical center or hospital.
