Travel Guidelines

(Updated October 14, 2021)

Mid-Pen’s COVID-19 Task Force recently reviewed our Travel Policy, which is based on CDC Travel Guidelines. Following is our updated Travel Policy along with mandatory COVID-19 testing dates. As you make travel arrangements, we ask that you carefully review these timelines to ensure your child is able to be on campus when we return from our breaks. Should you have any questions, please contact Director of Communications Charlene Prince Birkeland.

Domestic Travel

Vaccinated: No testing or quarantine is required.

Unvaccinated: The CDC protocol for unvaccinated individuals is to isolate AND and self-quarantine for a full seven days after returning from travel. In addition, Mid-Pen requires that students and staffulty take a PCR COVID-19 three (3) days after they return.

  • Even if the test result is negative, students and staffulty should stay home and self-quarantine for the full 7 days.  Please send the test results to COVID-19 test coordinator Jorge Rodriguez.
  • If the test is positive, they should isolate themselves to protect others from getting infected.
  • Avoid being around people who are at increased risk for severe illness for 14 days, whether you get tested or not.
  • Self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms; isolate and get tested if you develop symptoms.
International Travel

Vaccinated or unvaccinated: In line with CDC international travel recommendations, Mid-Pen requires that students and staffulty take a PCR COVID-19 test three (3) days after their return. Out of an abundance of caution, individuals can only return to campus after receiving a negative test result, which should be sent to Jorge Rodriguez.

In addition, unvaccinated individuals must follow the following CDC instructions:

  • Even if the test result is negative, students and staffulty should stay home and self-quarantine for the full 7 days.  Please send the test results to COVID-19 test coordinator Jorge Rodriguez.
  • If the test is positive, they should isolate themselves to protect others from getting infected.
  • Avoid being around people who are at increased risk for severe illness for 14 days, whether you get tested or not.
  • Self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms; isolate and get tested if you develop symptoms.
