Steps to Apply

Create a Ravenna Account

Ravenna is the central hub for everything relating to your Mid-Pen application.

Mid-Pen is one of the many San Francisco Bay Area independent schools using Ravenna for the submission of online applications. Recommendation letters will be conveniently shared across multiple school applications.

Within Ravenna, you will be able to read detailed application steps, download admission forms, register for our Open House events, electronically request teacher and principal/counselor recommendations, submit your application online, and track your application progress.

We can't wait to welcome you and your family to the Mid-Pen campus so we can show you around in person and give you a taste of what #DragonLife is all about.

Mid-Pen holds two Admissions Open House days each fall. These events will offer you an opportunity to see Mid-Pen and hear from our students and faculty. Admission Office staff will be available to answer any questions you might have regarding admission and our Flexible Tuition program.

Tour Our Campus

A tour is the perfect opportunity for you to share you story with our admissions team while you experience #DragonLife.

Think of it as the first step toward creating a strong connection between you and our school community.

After attending an Open House and touring our campus, we invite prospective students to spend a day in the life of a Mid-Pen Dragon.

You'll be paired with one of our Student Ambassadors, attend classes, make new friends, meet teachers, and experience what it feels like to be part of the Mid-Pen community.

Send Us Your School Transcripts

Your application requires transcripts for the past academic year and the first grading period of the current academic year.

The Transcript Release and Confidentiality Form can be downloaded from your Ravenna account.

After completing your portion of the Transcript Release and Confidentiality Form, you and your parents or guardians can deliver it to your current school for completion.

Ask for Recommendations

We want to learn more about you.

All Mid-Pen applicants are required to provide three (3) letters of recommendations from faculty or staff members from the current academic year.

Using your Ravenna account, please request recommendations from the following:

Math Teacher
English Teacher
Principal or Counselor

Your teachers and principal or counselor will complete their letter of recommendation and submit it via Ravenna.

Learn About Our Flexible Tuition Program

We recognize that an independent school education is a significant financial commitment, an investment that lasts a lifetime.

We use the School and Student Services (SSS) financial aid system to evaluate and process all flexible tuition applications. Each application is evaluated on a case by case base basis, using a holistic approach to best consider every family’s unique financial situation.

Visit School and Student Services and follow the prompt to begin your Parent's Financial Statement (PFS). Our School Code is: 1266.

IMPORTANT:

Please keep in mind that you must submit your taxes to the IRS as soon as possible so you can have your returns to us by our deadline. Every year, families miss out on the opportunity to apply for flexible tuition because they do not get their forms to us by the deadline. Please get those tax returns submitted ASAP!

Submit Your Application

Applications are due on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

Please complete your online application on Ravenna Hub. A vital part of our admissions process is understanding the story of your student and your family. Please take your time to thoughtfully share this information.

Once you have complete the application, click "Pay & Submit Prelim App," where you can submit your application along with the $100 application fee via Ravenna.

Please contact our office for a waiver code if you are unable to pay the application fee.
