DragonFest

DragonFest isn’t your typical gala—it’s our annual celebration of community, connection, and Dragon spirit. DragonFest is more than a party. It’s one of the traditions that makes Mid-Pen distinctive. In a world where school galas usually focus on fundraising, we’ve created something different: an evening that’s all about celebrating who we are and the community we’ve built together.

Each March, parents, staffulty, and friends come together for a night of fun at a special venue, like Pinstripes, a cool bowling alley in San Mateo, in 2025. Think of it as Mid-Pen’s “ungala”: no silent auctions, no paddle raises, no fancy dress code. Just good food, great company, and a whole lot of fun.

It’s casual, welcoming, and totally Mid-Pen.

DragonFest 2026

Save the Date: March 14, 2026
Mark your calendars—DragonFest 2026 is rolling into The Great Highway in San Carlos!

This year’s venue is part classic car showroom, part retro diner, part Vegas casino—like Grease meets Happy Days meets Ocean’s 11 (minus the heist). Picture yourself wandering among gleaming Thunderbirds, Mustangs, and Corvettes from the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s, grabbing a milkshake at a vintage diner counter, and heading upstairs to try your hand at pinball, blackjack, roulette, or craps. Professional dealers will keep the games lively—no real money, but plenty of prizes. Tickets start at just $25.
