Service to one another and to our outside community is at the heart of our school culture. Mid-Pen’s community service program helps to establish ties between the school and community organizations that serve the local population in various ways. Each semester, the entire school goes out into the community for a day of service. Additionally, all students serve individual hours with community organizations that count towards graduation. We need Parent volunteers to help drive our students for the upcoming Community Service Day on Wednesday, March 21st. Please sign up here!
All students will be expected to complete Community Service hours as follows:
9th Grade: 10 hours (both Community Service Days)
10th Grade: 20 hours (both Community Service Days + 10 volunteer hours)
11th Grade: 30 hours (both Community Service Days + 20 volunteer hours)
12th Grade 40 hours (both Community Service Days + 30 volunteer hours)
Volunteer hours may be fulfilled independently (through church or other volunteer work) or through agencies suggested by the school.
Students will be held responsible for the hours corresponding to their date of enrollment at Mid-Pen.
Summer Hours: Community Service hours performed over the summer typically apply to the previous years’ requirement. The exception to this is the summer between the students Junior and Senior year. If all previous requirements have been fulfilled, the summer hours can be applied to the Senior year requirement. Remember to check in with Jon regarding your hours of individual community service hours.
Student Volunteer Form: Print this form which you will need to have filled out by your agency supervisor. Once finished please submit to Jon for approval of your hours.
