Summer@Mid-Pen
Summer@Mid-Pen is an opportunity for students to take an academic course, gain credits, or enroll in a class just for fun.
Four week-long sessions are offered on campus designed for students seeking enrichment, prepping for academic classes, or needing credit repair for a D or F for a previous school year.
Incoming 9th graders may take summer courses for enrichment only. No credit will be offered.
Students may sign up for one morning and/or afternoon class per week. To earn a semester's worth of credit, a student would need to enroll in four total classes of an approved, for-credit discipline (i.e. English, World Studies, Environmental Science, or Biology). Our English and History offerings are UC/CSU approved, meaning their credit can be applied to their transcript. These courses also qualify for Credit Repair*. Students taking a course for credit who are absent for more than two days will not receive credit.
Note: Courses must meet a minimum threshold of students to run.
*Credit Repair is only for Mid-Pen students who received a D or F from a previous school year on their transcript. Core teachers of current Mid-Pen Students will share information with students during Student-Family-Teacher Conferences. Students who attend other high schools and take a course for credit will receive a transcript at the end of the summer.
Only some courses are offered for credit repair. Please see course descriptions and the FAQ's below for more details.
Please note: Families may change whether a course is taken for credit/credit repair up until the first day of class. After the class has begun, no change regarding credit/credit repair can be made.
