Yolanda Berry, Class of 1983, is a Behavioral Economist originally from Silicon Valley who is now based in the United Kingdom. For the past 10 years she has worked with local governments, community organizations, and environmental groups, focusing primarily on the area of recycling and sustainability. There are many different factors which influence people's actions, not all of them rational; as a behavioral economist, Yolanda helps organizations improve their effectiveness by helping them design and implement modest changes to their messaging and materials, the effects of which can be potentially enormous.

Before becoming a behavioral economist, Yolanda had a completely different career in tech and space. In the 1990s she was a key member of the tech support team at Wind River, a leading provider of real-time embedded operating systems, based here in the Bay Area. As head of the escalations team, she was the person everyone turned to when customers were unable to work with the regular support team or had particularly challenging problems.

In addition to a bachelor’s in psychology from San Francisco State, Yolanda has a master’s degree in behavioral economics from the University of Derby.

To the Class of 2025

With perspective gained from four years of high school, members of the Class of 2024 shared their hard-earned wisdom with members of the Class of 2025, as they prepared to take on the mantle of Mid-Pen's student leaders. Take heed; theirs is valuable advice for student and adult alike!

Post-Secondary Acceptances

Congratulations to the Class of 2024 on their acceptance to more than post-secondary programs around the country!
