Graduation
Your story is bigger than a transcript. At Mid-Pen, graduation is a celebration of belonging and individuality. Families, friends, and staffulty stand together to honor our seniors, while student speakers and musicians showcase their talents. Most meaningful of all, each graduate is personally presented by their Core teacher, who shares words that reflect their intellect, heart, and spirit before they receive their diploma. Every student leaves the stage knowing they are seen, known, and loved.

Alumni Speaker
Casey Schaefer '16

The path Casey Schaefer ’16 has taken after graduation reflects the spirit of curiosity, resilience, and self-discovery that defines so many Mid-Pen students. After graduating from Mid-Pen, Casey attended community college, where she discovered a passion for anthropology before transferring to William & Mary to complete her undergraduate studies. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science at San José State University. Along the way, Casey has built a career shaped by a wide range of interests and experiences, embracing opportunities that reflect both creativity and intellectual curiosity. She has worked in operations and community-facing roles in the Bay Area, including for the Girl Scouts of Northern California and for Dudek, an environment planning and engineering consulting firm, where she served as an archaeologist and later a Site Lead managing an aquatic invasive species watercraft inspection program.
