While 2020-2021 school season poses a challenge to our traditional activities, the global pandemic has created an even greater need for volunteerism.
We're currently exploring different opportunities for students and staff to participate in community service opportunities that can be completed while we all still shelter in place.
9th Grade : 10 hours (both Community Service Days)
10th Grade: 10 hours (both Community Service Days + 10 volunteer hours)
11th Grade: 30 hours (both Community Service Days + 20 volunteer hours)
12th Grade: 40 hours (both Community Service Days + 30 volunteer hours)
Volunteer hours are fulfilled independently, for example through church or other volunteer work, or through agencies suggested by the school. All students are held responsible for completing the hours corresponding to their date of enrollment at Mid-Pen.
Community Service hours performed over the summer typically apply to the previous years’ requirement. The exception to this is the summer between the students Junior and Senior year. If all previous requirements have been fulfilled, the summer hours can be applied to the Senior year requirement.
It's important that you find a community service placement that suits your interests and skills. Take some time to look through the many options available in your area!
